West family of Lindfield and Plumpton,
Sussex.
John West and Ann LANGRIDGE were married on the 29th of April 1758 at Lindfield, Sussex. They had children:- (i) John baptised on the 24th May 1761, Lindfield. (ii) Samuel baptised on the 21st October 1764, Lindfield Samuel married Hannah SCOTT (1789 - ) on the 17th October 1808 at Horsted Keynes. He is probably the Samuel West enrolled in the Volunteer Cavalary in 1803, and from 1813 to 1825 is described as a labourer. He was buried at Lindfield on the 30th May 1825. The children of this marriage were:- (i) John baptised 19th March 1809 at Horsted Keynes (ii) Elizabeth baptised 24th December 1811 at Lindfield (iii) Ann baptised 26th September 1813 Lindfield (iv) Mary baptised 10th March 1816 at Lindfield and married on the 24th July 1850 to James TIDEY (v)Samuel baptised on the 13th December 1818 at Lindfield and married on the 16th May 1841 to Barbara WICKS (1822 - 1887) at Lewes, St John's (sub-castro). (vi) Eliza baptised 16th October 1825 Lindfield. |
